Brave Little Boy!

Will had his tonsils and adeniods removed yesterday and everything went very well. He was so brave going into the surgery and I am so proud of him! He was in a little pain afterwards and very disoriented, which seems to be very common. Once they got him comfortable, he was fine and we got him home and in bed. So far, he has been full of energy and not in too much pain. I hope he continues to recover quickly. He is such a sweet boy and is loving all the attention!

It has been almost 6 months since my last entry and a lot has happened. It would take way too long to try and catch up completely, so I am just going to start fresh with this day. Will is doing great and just started T-Ball. He is enjoying school and amazes me everyday with the knowledge he is gaining. Aside from some rare moments, he is absolutely the sweetest boy in the world. He is very compassionate and loving...traits I hope he holds onto forever! He is doing really well in school and has won the hearts of his teachers and other staff at his school...not to mention some cute little girls!! He is an amazing little boy and I just love him so much it hurts. We are enjoying our house that we moved into last February. We really love being so close to my parents, friends and school. Lately, my days have been full with sponsorship and event planning for an upcoming horse show in Camden this April. It has been quite a big job, but I can't wait for it to happen and be able to enjoy the event! Life has definitely changed a lot in the past year, but I am learning that things don't always happen the way you plan. I am trying very hard to keep the faith and hope for good things to come. There is one thing that I never question or doubt, and that is how blessed I am to have Will. I look at my sweet boy and know that no matter how hard life gets, it is all worth it to have the moments I am so lucky to have with him. He fills my heart with love and my life with happiness!

My baby is officially in kindergarten!!! Will was such a big boy this morning and I could not be more proud of him! I held myself together until I sat in the car and then the tears just started falling. What an overwhelming feeling!!! I know he is going to love school and learn so much. Today is a very sad day....my sweet 12 year old lab, Scout, had to be put to sleep. Scout has been the best dog ever for many years and I love him very much. Due to old age, terrible hips, and lots of other health problems, I had to make the decision to let him rest. I know that he is in a better place, but it still breaks my heart. There will never be a dog as special as my Scout.

Pumpkin Patch and Picnic!

I went with Will's class to the pumpkin patch and the park for a field trip today! His class is so cute and they all had so much fun! They got to hear a story, sing some songs, and pick out a small pumpkin for themselves and a big one for the class. After that, we headed to the park for a picnic lunch and some playtime. What a fun day!

Home from NYC!

So, I made it home safely this morning from New York and was so excited to see sweet Will! We spent the afternoon on the couch snuggling and it was wonderful! I had such a great time with my mom and Lori in NY, but it was also good to get home. Thank you again, Mom and Dad, for the trip! Lori is so lucky to be living there and having this experience. It is a totally different world up there! I came home with much more than I had planned....3 pairs of jeans, a jacket, a couple of shirts, two scarves, a tattoo and a broken toe!! Yes, I broke my toe in the hotel room yesterday on the bed frame. It is purple and really swollen, but I will live! I am just so glad it happened yesterday and not the first day we got there. Oh yeah, and yes, that is right a tattoo! I know, it is really crazy, but it is something I have wanted since high school. I chickened out back then, but when Lori said she wanted one, I thought this was my chance! So, I did it. It can only be seen if I show it to you, so it isn't bad.

I also want to thank Gamma and Gampa for being such a big help with Will while I was gone. He had such a good time with y'all and I cannot thank you enough! I really got to enjoy myself knowing he was in such good hands! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I really didn't take but about 5 pictures the whole time I was there, so I don't have much to share. I am just so glad I got to go and that now I am home with my family!

My bags are packed and I am so ready for my trip to New York!! I am going with Mom for Parents Weekend at Lori's college. Dad couldn't go, so I am the stand in parent!! I can't wait to get there and see Lori, shop, eat and go to shows! We will be there until Wednesday morning, so I get to celebrate my birthday there...hooray! Thanks, Dad for a great trip!!!! Although I am excited, I am still sad about leaving my baby for so long! I know he will be in great hands with his daddy and his Gamma! I sure will miss him! The Fair!

Pat and I took Will to the fair tonight and had a blast! It is amazing the difference one year can make. Last year we still had a stroller and could only stay for about an hour. This year, he was a big boy and was even tall enough to ride everything by himself! Pat still rode some of the rides with him in the beginning, but then he was on his own. It was so much fun!! He smiled and laughed the whole time! My sweet boy is exhausted and should sleep like a rock!

Girls Night Out!

So, the girls and I (caroline, kiki, elisa and myself) left the babies at home and headed to Charleston for Susu's Bachelorette weekend! We got there Saturday in time for some brief catching up and then on to the lingerie shower! Susu gots lots of great things from all the girls! We went to a wonderful dinner at Chiai which was delicious and then on to some dancing. The rain put a little damper in the festivities seeing as thought is was POURING, but we still managed to have a great time!! Susu is the best and we are so excited for her and Daniel!!

So, Pat took Will to Clemson tonight to stay with Aunt Emily and Uncle Kendall and to go to the game tomorrow. My house is so quiet!!! Will had his "girlfriend" over to play today and had so much fun! Raquel came home from school with us and they played for a couple of hours. They were very entertaining to listen to and they really played well together. When it was time to take Raquel home, they both said "I love you!" Will said he wanted her to sleepover next time. We took Will to the USC vs. Wofford game last night and had a great time. Aside from me being sick with a sinus/head cold, it was a great day and night. We sat through the first half and left right before half time. Of course, the main attraction for Will was Cocky!

Update on Chad

For those of you who don't know yet, Chad O'Brien was hurt in an ATV accident on Monday morning. Among the broken bones and fractures, everyone has been mainly concerned about the trauma to his head. The doctors went in today for surgery and came out very optimistic. We all know that Chad is so strong and so loved by others that he will come out this. Autumn has been amazing and just stood by Chad with all of their love! It makes everything else seem so small and to stop sweating the small stuff. It is out of our control what might happen when we walk out the door each day.

This is an update sent from Collins just minutes ago.......

To everyone who has been asking for an update....just got back from the hospital and so far Chad is doing just fine. The doctor was able to remove all of the blood from his brain and repair part of the skull fracture. They have put him pretty far under to keep his blood pressure and heart rate down and will be watching him very closely for the next... Read More 24 hours. They will be doing about 6 scans over the next day or so to make sure the bleeding does not come back. Overall though, the surgery went very well and the doctor seems very optimistic. Autumn thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers and she is a rock!

As some of you know, I was sucked into being a board member for the HOA of our neighborhood. This has been a quite dreadful thing for me, but annual meeting is over and I am trilled. I have been stressing over what to say for a month now at this meeting and I am thrilled to say it is over!!! While I do care about my neighborhood in a lot of aspects, there are also many that I couldn't care less about. I don't know what I am doing, but am sure I will have lots of great stories that come from this experience.

So, Will kept running to my bathroom and bringing out my necklaces. I kept asking him what he was doing (not really worried about my jewelry because it was nothing nice) and he just said he was making something. A few minutes later he ran into the kitchen to get Pat and me to show us his masterpiece. "It's a duck!" he says, and we both couldn't believe what a great duck he actually made out my jewelry. We were so proud we had to take a picture and share it with everyone!

Today was the first day of 4 year old kindergarten for Will. He was so excited to go this morning and had a great day! He loves his new teacher, Ms. Page, and all of his friends! I know, I know, I have been a slacker! Will has kept me extremely busy these past couple of weeks and we are both ready for school to start!! As I type this now, at 10:12pm, he is still awake! HELP! I don't know why that boy does not just pass out at night as much as he goes all day! I know I am exhausted!

School starts Tuesday and we can't wait! We went to meet his teacher yesterday and see all his friends that will be in his class. I am so looking forward to this year and think he is going to learn so much! I am chair of the homeroom mothers this year, so I know I will be very busy. I am sure you will hear much more about that!

Our sweet Lori is off to school in NYC!! I can't believe she is there and am so excited for her! Although we are going to miss her so much, we are so glad she is there fulfilling her dreams! Good luck, sissy!! Hope to come see you soon in the big city!xoxo

Catching Up...

So, Will headed to Litchfield last Sunday with Nina and got her all to himself until Monday afternoon. I know he enjoyed his time with Nina and I appreciate her taking him with her on Sunday. After an appointment on Monday, I picked up Lori and we headed down. We had great weather all week and enjoyed the convenience of staying right on the beach and having a pool! We spent the week relaxing (as much as you can with a 4 year old) and just enjoying the sun. On Friday, Will and I packed up and headed to Edisto to meet Daddy. Chris and Ariail were so nice to have us at their beach house for the weekend. We had a house full with 10 adults and 3 children. There, we enjoyed fun boat rides, time on the porch, and lots of good food! It was a great group and we had a wonderful time! Thanks for having us! We even got to visit with the Suggs, Milliken, Mote and Bells on Sunday afternoon before heading out! It really was a great week, but I am also very glad to be home! After being gone for a week, I think I am finally caught up on all my laundry and unpacking. Going out of town is really a lot of work and getting organized again is hard!

I know I have been a slack blogger lately, but we have been on the go! We have had birthday parties, school, swim lessons, lake trips, and lots of playing! Will has done very well with his swim lessons and we feel more like he is taking in some good information. He still loves school and wants to go everyday! I only have him in 3 days a week during the summer, but that was a mistake. He really loves it and we think that is great! We will be heading to the beach on Monday for the week and I can't wait. We decided to have Will's birthday party a little early this year because so many people are usually out of town 4th of July weekend. His actual birthday is July 3, but our celebration started a little early! We all had so much fun and we are so glad so many friends could come! I can't believe my baby is almost 4!

Wishing all the Daddy's out there a very Happy Father's Day! I love my Dad so much and appreciate all the wonderful things he does for me and my family. Pat is such a good father and I look forward to watching him for many years to come with our sweet Will. We love Gampa and look forward to seeing him next week!
